If you've prayed to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, congratulations! We celebrate with you and would like to support you in your new life as you follow Jesus.
Take your next step:
Get Connected - Find a Local Church
It’s important to be with other Christians to build and grow in your new found life in Jesus. One of the things God wants us to do is to get connected to a church family, His ‘body’:
“Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” Romans 12:4-5 NLT
It’s here you’ll become part of a community where you’ll find support:
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25 NLT
Be a place where you can develop your God-given talents/abilities to serve others:
“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.” Romans 12:6 NLT
Grow in your knowledge and love for Jesus and others as you hear the Word preached:
“Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of His body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Ephesians 4:15-16 NLT
Just make sure the church you will be going to is Jesus-centred.

Read the Bible
Get yourself a Bible if you do not have one yet. There’s so many versions there, but a good place to get a physical Bible is at Koorong.
A great phone app is the YouVersion, which has access to plenty of versions of the Bible as well as other resources like devotionals, Bible reading plans and a nice daily verse of the day as well. Simply search for this in Apple Store or Google Play store.
Why read the Bible? It is God’s Word! Many books in the one place, but One Author – God Himself. There’s so many reasons why we need to read the Bible daily, just from this verse below:
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT
The Word is God, so it makes sense that if you want to get to know Him more to read the Bible.
“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1 NLT
Get to know Jesus
Apart from reading the Bible, once you accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, God deposits the Holy Spirit in you.
“Now it is God who strengthens us, with you, in Christ and has anointed us. He has also sealed us and given us the Spirit as a down payment in our hearts.” 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 HCSB
The Holy Spirit will be your guide as you read the Bible and pray. It is the Holy Spirit who will reveal more about God our Father, believe you will get to know Him more, as you become more like Jesus.
“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth...” John 16:13a HCSB
Request prayer
You’re not meant to journey alone in your walk with Jesus, but with fellow Christians as well. If you want to share with others whatever you are going through; a good avenue would be to request prayer or even pray together with others.
“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 HCSB
It takes humility to pray and ask for prayer, but God lifts up the humble. Go on and start praying!
